Using the same block in different ways

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is the variation I get using the same block in different ways.
The goldren retriever quilt top was made as part of the brown monochromatic challenge. The use of the alternating dark and light pieces in the piano key boarders gives a different effect to the more mono tonal use in the blue quilt.

The central section of the blue quilt is actually the same block that I used to create the large flower boarders below. Arranged in a 9 nine patch.they give a swirling effect.

  1. Very nice quilts and very different! Love the peek of your red shoes!

  2. All your quilts look great. Particularly like the colouring of the flower border blocks as you get a star shape in the middle :)

I really enjoy the encouragement I get from feedback. As I am part of the process pledge I love to know if I am giving useful information... looking forward to hearing from you
