Quilts with animals

Today i decided to order EQ 7 as I am beginning to work on more projects from photos and have been informed that it makes good pattern pieces for foundation piecing. I am hoping to produce a series of quilts with animal in natural backgrounds. My first attempt is above but I realize that there is room for development.

I have been trying to think of what would be an iconic animal for the Northern and Southern American continents - any ideas...........

Using the same block in different ways

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is the variation I get using the same block in different ways.
The goldren retriever quilt top was made as part of the brown monochromatic challenge. The use of the alternating dark and light pieces in the piano key boarders gives a different effect to the more mono tonal use in the blue quilt.

The central section of the blue quilt is actually the same block that I used to create the large flower boarders below. Arranged in a 9 nine patch.they give a swirling effect.

Mice...... not my favourite animal

Mice have been in my sewing room... and for me that is a big problem - as I am seriously allergic to them and it means that everything they have been in contact with has to be washed or otherwise cleaned.

Hence the  lack of other progress - especially in the department of siggies - I am just about ready to start sending them out again sorry for the delays.
