A spiral - My first - Orange monochromatic challege - April

I have been working on a spiral block - my first one. I am gradually getting the hang of it thanks to a book "simply amazing spirals" by RaNae Merrill. It even comes with a CD of the templates. I want to make my son a spiral based quilt but I decided it was wiser to start on a smaller project so this will be a cushion...

As the monochromatic challenge is supposed to stretch ones boundaries I thought that this was a great incentive to try this block out with my limited collection of oranges. - they are orange (not brown) even though they don't look it in this photo.

  1. I have enjoyed the challenge, my goal was to actually sort my fabrics by each color month (sneaky way to get more organized) then I decided to just make blocks for one top and the orgianzation kinda went away. I like your spiral and may use that idea on a future project. i look forward to seeing what you come up with.- cw
