Need to balance - easy and complex sewing

I have come to realize that one of the reasons I have multiple projects ... UFOs (unfinished objects) ... on the go is the need to balance easy and more complex sewing.

There are times when I feel like the "Muddle headed wombat" a classic of Australian children's literature and then I a much better and less frustrated if I stick to sewing simple things - like piano keys. Also because I am easily distracted I tend to  start some thing new rather than finish something I have already begun.

While having many projects can help one be efficient in the production side in that some ideas are half planned - I discussed this in a previous post.

I need to be careful about the shear number have and make sure that I organise some of them so that they are simple sewing for those off days.

  1. Yes, yes, I have slowly discovered that I work better when I have a couple of simple projects to work on as well as a more complicated one. When I get tired of concentrating I pick up the simple project and work on that.

  2. Yes, I agree completely. Simpled mixed in with complex and some hand sewing too. This post is excellent 'food for thought'.
