photos for memory quilts - mixture of black and white and colour

Here are some black and white phtos i "coloured" to help them blend in a mixed photo quilt

In both cases I sellected out the figure and changed the black to browns in the people and greens in the backgound. This helped the figure stand out.

The final quilt

  1. nice job, it is fun to see how others expand on technology to make their quilt tops personal.
I have played around wiht a few programs w/my photos but haven't done my own fabric printing (yet)- great quilt! cheryl

  2. Beautiful job. I can't figure out how you sewed the rows together.

I am going to make one for my foster daughter, who lost her husband and 2 little girls and have no idea how to do it.

I hope mine comes out as nice as yours.

  3. this quilt is based on 8.5" squares. the photos were framed in cream to 6.5" to 8.5" then blue was added to 2 sides to make them up to 8.5 sqaure. the blocks were arranged in the alternating horizontal and vertical orientation.

  4. I am in Taiwan and at the moment blogger will not let me log in - the previous comment was from me - Deborah Cohen

I really enjoy the encouragement I get from feedback. As I am part of the process pledge I love to know if I am giving useful information... looking forward to hearing from you
